Not the lycra mass of jailbait, but the music people, the meaning in abstraction people, the self-mythologizing people, the people obsessed with people, with specific types or shapes of people, the gourmand people and the ascetic people, the really shy people and the feral, slouching idols. The ragged, hand-sewn people. The hand-drum people, the shroom eaters, the pot smokers, the ones slouched in the corner making notes for novels on their napkins, the dream makes, the poets, the clowns and puppeteers, the modern danders, the yoga masters, the macrobiotic health nazis, the actors -yes,the actors!- the activists, the radicals, the shit-talkers, the experimentalists and the plain old-fashioned drunks.

hmm...as I am Sara Tilley this post puzzled me...because you don't state that this is a quote from my novel, Skin Room, it appears that I wrote this just for your blog. Also, there's a few errors in the transcription - it's 'dream-makers' and 'modern dancers'...
all in all I was kind of surprised to see this crop up on my google feed. thanks for enjoying the writing enough to post it, but in the future I'd suggest to you that it's nice to properly state the source of any quoting you're doing, and double-check that you've spelled everything correctly!
